Hi my name is Linda and I wanted to share my story and the
success I have had with Joseph and Facts over Fads Nutrition. I am fifty one years old, 5’3” and not necessarily considered overweight. However, for years, I was not comfortable in my own skin. I always enjoyed working out and would try all the new crazes, fad diet trends and supplements, fat burners etc. Nothing worked! Besides wanting to wear a certain size and see a particular number on the scale, there’s a family history of high blood pressure and cholesterol. I was already being prescribed medication for both and I did not like that! Although I had been exercising regularly for 2 years, some weight came off then it would come back, a few inches here and there, clothes would fit then be tight. Very frustrating!! I knew I could do better and I wanted to do better. My
Fitness Pal really did not work for me either. I didn’t know about
Macros or portion sizes and calories. I was maxing out on my carbs and fats by lunch time and had not met my protein percentage. Joseph does all the brain work for me and I’m so thankful. After not seeing desired results on my own, and following others on the plan, I jumped all in and committed to six months. Best decision ever! I actually enjoy cooking and like my cooking. There’s not one thing I can think of that I am missing out on. I’ve been very satisfied with the food choices he assigns and so excited when I see avocados on the meal plan. I loved each
month while on that plan and I get excited looking forward to what’s on the next one. So…, my results, I have lost over 10 pounds and down 2 sizes. The plan works when you stick to it and measure out or weigh your portions. Trust me it’s not hard and there’s plenty of people to help on the group Facebook page. I always thought I had my weight and my eating habits under control. That I didn’t need to exercise t because I was healthy and didn’t have anything too concerning; until I went up four pant sizes in one year. I wore over-sized shirts and huge sweaters to hide what I was embarrassed to show and always wore black. I walked slowly up the stairs so I wouldn’t lose my breath. I would stare at the mirror and tell myself to change but never did.
My husband went through a weight gain about 10 years ago and after about a year, he started exercising frequently and never looked back. I tried but I didn’t have that much motivation, I didn’t have the drive to do so because I thought I was fine. But I didn’t want to keep spending money on buying new clothes because I couldn’t fit into the pants or shirts that I had just bought.
I saw an ad on Facebook for Camp Gladiator for $29 to try for a month. I got a card from a fellow member and meant to call to sign up but didn’t. I saw another ad and it was for $39 to try for the month and it was 6pm on a Sunday night and I was like what the hell. I called the number, she took my info, and signed me up and when she told me “Okay! Camp starts tomorrow! How does 5:45am sound?” I thought to myself “OMG what did I just sign up for!” But it was done and I haven’t looked back since because it was a good change that my life needed.
Camp Gladiator helped me lose the first 7lbs but I knew I was still missing something. After eight months of consistent working out and even completing CG Games, which was a big accomplishment for me, Joseph posted a status about an 8-week Holiday Challenge which I didn’t even know he did nutritional counseling on the side! I told him I was interested and just like that, my life changed again for the better!
When I started Joseph’s meal plan, the one thing I worried most about was taking pictures of myself every week without a shirt on. I didn’t like the way I looked, therefore, I felt like I was going to be judged or criticized for the lifestyle I was living in. But after a while, Joseph made me feel more comfortable because the pictures weren’t just for him to help me. At the end, I saw those pictures as a reminder of where I don’t want to be again in life: embarrassed, no energy, giggly everywhere, and even though at my highest of 156lbs, people would tell me “oh that’s not that much! You’re not fat!” But for a 5”1’ little girl, yes, I was overweight. My physician told me I was technically considered obese due to my height but no one else saw that but me.
I’ve been on Joseph’s Meal Plans for about 8 months and it’s worth every penny! The support from not just him alone, but his other clients who are just like me wanting change and need that push and guide from someone to tell them what to do and what not to do! I’m down 20lbs since 2019 and I’m much more toned in places I wouldn’t have imagined before. I’ve dropped three pant sizes and I fit in my jeans better than when I was a size 6 before. I always had love handles and now they’re not there. I’m not saying I’m totally fit because I am not but I feel so much more comfortable in my clothes. I don’t hide my body behind big shirts or sweaters. I can wear a fitted shirt and not be embarrassed about it because I know I look good in it.
The self confidence that Joseph has given me is worth the struggle in not giving into temptation to eating Bill Miller’s for breakfast and Whataburger for lunch. Knowledge really is power when you know what you could be eating throughout the whole day instead of spending all your calories in one meal. Discipline and control was a struggle when I wanted to eat more carbs for my meal but I had to stick to my plan. Yes, I fell off the wagon here and there and had a soda and some cheat meals, but I haven’t given up. “Treat every Monday as if it’s your 1st Monday on the plan” as Joseph would say!
I won’t stop bettering myself and I’m glad I found CG and Joseph’s Facts over Fads Nutrition program because without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today with my fitness and health!
I finally got serious with my nutrition about 18 months ago when Joseph called me out and said “Your workouts are great, but how about your nutrition?” From that day on he has been there with knowledge and support, he works with me daily and teaches me new things about nutrition and myself. Joseph has lead me to a place that I have not been to in years and when I think I am done, he knows how to push me to continue to learn and grow. I have lost more than 100lbs since the start and without his knowledge and support, I would not be where I am today. I’m excited for what the future holds.

Personal training and dieting with Joseph has been one of the best investments I’ve made for myself. He has guided me to be the healthiest I have ever been and continues to push me to grow. His knowledge in training both 1 on 1 and through his boot-camp with CG, have not only made me stronger physically, but also mentally. I wholeheartedly believe that I would not be the strong healthy man I am today without Joseph’s knowledge, passion, and desire to help clients be as successful as they can be.

Working with Joseph, I am a total of 50lbs down, pant size went from 18 to 12 and shirts went from XL to M. my performance during workouts has improved, longer endurance, heavier weights, quicker movements and transition times. My mental health has improved drastically, confidence has skyrocketed, and I’m loving me for ME.
CG (WUT WUT) has given me a new future. Instead of high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart problems waiting for me down the road, I now look forward to hiking with my son, traveling with my wife and walking my daughters down the aisle. when i started CG i had been taking a class at the gym. At the gym i spent $300 to lose 6 pounds in 10 weeks… with CG and nutrition, i spent $60 to lose 12 pounds in 6 weeks. I lost twice the weight for 80% less cost. i have gone from 3xl shirt to a xl and 42 waist pants to a size 36. Joseph has been an agent of grace in my life. I actually look forward to working out, and miss it when i can’t make it out to camp. My CG community has become a part of my life and weekly routine.

Dieting is tough at first but once you find foods that you like to eat, will satiate your appetite, and make it part of your routine, transformations start rolling in.
Working out has always been a part of my life that I have always enjoyed, but I never realized how much more I could gain from those workouts by eating correctly to chase my goals. Joseph has shown me the right way to manage my meals, fuel for performance, and in turn has proven to me that you can’t outwork a bad diet. After having my 3rd child I made it a goal to get to a healthier place before my 40th birthday. Joseph knows my goals and is in constant support of my journey. Within a shorter time period than I expected, I have a new heightened goal and expectation of myself. But this time I actually lost more weight and even better, managed to keep it off after the challenge ended. Joseph combines the experience of a trainer with the heart of a teacher. He really wants to see people reach their goals and getting that personal connection really makes a big difference.
